REVIEW: Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis

Lumberjanes, Vol. 1: Beware the Kitten Holy (Lumberjanes #1-4)Lumberjanes, Vol. 1: Beware the Kitten Holy by Noelle Stevenson

I don't want to rate this book because, while, in my eyes, it's an enjoyable silly read, this is so clearly not made for me.

A supernatural jaunt through the woods at a girls sleepaway camp, this book is actually more action than I thought it would be, to the point of sometimes being a bit frenetic. There is an immediate sense of tight friendship between the main group, which only grows with each passing monster vanquished. The humor is well timed, and the repetition of fun, nonsensical exclamations lends an Adventure Time-y feel to it.

I'd give this to a pre-teen/young teen of any gender and I think they'd have a great time with it, but the message for young girls specifically in this book is incredible and I'd love to see more work like it.
